Ceramic Crowns & Bridges Improve Your Smile
Restoring your smile can be a huge benefit to your health, appearance, and well-being. Here at Elevate Dental Wellness, we use ceramic dental crowns and bridges to help patients regain their confidence to smile again.
As long-lasting, prosthetic devices, crowns and bridges won’t have the hassle to be removed daily for cleaning like dentures because they are cemented onto your teeth or dental implants. Removal will not be necessary, unless for a viable reason, but can only be extracted or replaced by Dr. Van Gorden or Dr. Steinbach.
Why Are Crowns Needed?
Also known as a tooth “cap,” a dental crown is generally used to cover a damaged tooth to enhance the appearance of your smile. We can also use a crown to improve the shape, alignment, or color of it and also to cover a dental implant. Our Basalt dental office offers metal-free dental crowns to deliver a substantial solution that we know our patients will love.
Other reasons we use dental crowns for our patients include:
- Replace a large filling when there isn't enough tooth remaining
- Protect a weak tooth from fracturing
- Restore a fractured tooth
- Attach a bridge
- Cover a tooth that has had root canal treatment
How is a Bridge Used?
Typically, a dental bridge is used for patients who have lost one or more teeth due to dental trauma or decay. It’s important to seek treatment for your missing teeth because if left untreated, serious dental complication can arise.
Bridges are inserted over the spaces where your teeth are missing and secured to your natural teeth or implants that are surrounding the empty space. These teeth are like an anchor for your bridge and help support your remaining jawbone so you can improve the health of your mouth. Lastly, we will complete your treatment with one of our ceramic dental crowns.
The Creation of All-Ceramic Crowns & Bridges
Before implementing your ceramic crown or bridge, we will need to examine your mouth and reduce your tooth or teeth to a smaller size to ensure the prosthetics will fit securely over it. Once Dr. Van Gorden or Dr. Steinbach have successfully shaved it to its proper size, they will create an impression using 3D technology to provide an exact mold for the new crown or bridge.
We will match your new crown or bridge with the color of your natural teeth so you, or anyone else for that matter, won’t even notice you have prosthetic teeth. When your new crown or bridge is finished being made at our dental lab, we will replace your temporary restorations and insert your permanent one.
A Lifelong Restoration at Elevate Dental Wellness
How long will these prosthetic teeth last? Well, that is really up to you. Dr. Van Gorden and Dr. Steinbach want all their patients who receive one of our restorative treatments to continue with good oral hygiene and regular dental visits. Daily brushing and flossing twice a day can ensure a long-lasting outcome for your new smile.
We do know that your crown or bridge can loosen in certain circumstances, so if that happens, just give us a call and we can safely fix it. Request your appointment today at our Basalt office to rejuvenate your smile with our effective solutions. Our team is excited to start your journey towards a stunning new smile.
