Biocompatibility Testing in Basalt & Aspen, CO

Each patient reacts to materials differently, similar to how certain foods cause particular reactions. As a holistic-centered practice, we seek to minimize toxicity and immune sensitivity by ensuring our materials are compatible with your body. Most importantly, we want to provide our patients with peace of mind when trusting us with your well-being.

Here at Elevate Dental Wellness, we use biocompatibility testing to help our dentists determine which materials are best suited for your unique body. Learn how our Basalt practice uses biocompatibility testing to provide the safest, best possible care that’s suitable for the whole family.

What is Biocompatibility Testing?

Recognizing material incompatibility can be challenging when symptoms are delayed or physically undetectable. In most cases, patients are unaware of their chemical sensitivity and how it affects their health. That’s where biocompatibility testing comes in.

By using personal biocompatibility testing, Drs. Van Gorden and Steinbach can get a better understanding of each patient’s biological reactions in relation to our dental restorative materials. We test our materials in comparison to your individual body chemistry to make sure the materials used during your visit are well-suited with your body.

Using Serum Compatibility Testing

Patients may experience a reaction to materials used during their procedure. This is a result of the immune system rejecting the material and reacting against it. To avoid this issue, Elevate Dental Wellness uses serum compatibility testing through Clifford Consulting and Research

This testing tells us which materials your body will accept or reject so we can plan accordingly. Each patient is provided with a prescription for a blood draw and is asked to take the kit to a nearby blood lab. The blood lab will then draw one tube of blood, prepare frozen serum, and send the sample to the compatibility lab.

The process is quick and easy, and you’ll receive your results in just a few days. It’s a necessary extra step in your dental care that brings you better results after a treatment or procedure in our office.
