preventive dentistry
The key to a healthy mouth isn’t just addressing problems as they arise, but actively working to prevent them. Our experienced, knowledgeable staff can set you up for success, whether it’s with regular dental cleanings, sealants, TMJ therapy or other services.

Dental Cleanings

As any dentist would tell you, regular teeth cleanings allow us to identify potential concerns with your oral health and work to correct them. A teeth cleaning in our office includes a review of your medical history, x-rays, a thorough examination of your teeth, gums and soft tissues, oral cancer examination and screening with Oral ID removal of plaque and stains and a discussion about any concerns you may have. We’ll even give you recommendations to improve your at-home dental care.

Nightguards and Mouthguards

Nightguards help protect you from the effects of grinding your teeth while you sleep. Mouthguards help keep your teeth safe while playing sports, preventing expensive and painful injuries. We can fit you for the custom molded guard that you need in our Basalt office.

Periodontics

Elevate Dental Wellness knows the importance of oral health on your overall health, and because of this our goal is to cure our patients of their oral inflammation. During any exam we’ll examine your gums and look for inflammation or bleeding, which are signs of periodontal disease. Periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, can lead to pain, receding gum lines, and even the loss of your teeth. When the disease is identified early, the progress of the symptoms can be halted or even reversed with proper treatment and care. At Elevate Dental Wellness there are no “cookie-cutter” protocols, each patient’s disease is treated in a unique way to help cure their disease.

Sealants

Sealants are a powerful tool in preventive dentistry. After a teeth cleaning, we can apply a sealant to select teeth which helps prevent decay on the chewing surface of your teeth. Drs. Van Gorden and Steinbach will determine if using a sealant is the right option for your dental health, and if it is, they will apply a safe, BPA-free sealant themselves.

TMJ Therapy

Patients who suffer from TMJ (temporomandibular joint) pain can benefit from a custom-fitted occlusal splint and bite adjustment. This can realign the jaw joints and help the chewing system in your mouth work correctly.
