Where are you from and why did you start Elevate Dental Wellness?

I grew up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. After graduating from Ripon College with a degree in Chemistry, I spent one year traveling the world before attending dental school at the University of Colorado. Upon graduating in 2000, I worked as an associate dentist in Denver before acquiring my own practice in Glenwood Springs. From 2002 – 2012 I owned and practiced at Two Rivers Dental Center in West Glenwood.

In 2012, my wife - Dr. Steinbach - and I sold our dental practices and spent a year exploring Central and South America, ultimately returning to the Roaring Fork Valley in June 2013.

What “elevates” you?

I enjoy helping our local underserved population, by practicing three days per week in the dental clinic at the Mountain Family Health Center in Rifle. My position at Mountain Family has allowed me to become an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, giving me the opportunity to help educate undergraduate dental students in their clinical rotations.

When I'm not practicing dentistry, you’ll find me on the river fishing, on the mountain skiing, or traveling with my wife - Dr. Steinbach.

Where are you from and why did you start Elevate Dental Wellness?

I grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Anthropology, and minors in Anatomy and Neurobiology. Then I attended dental school at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, graduating in 2004. After graduating I moved to the Midwest, practicing in both Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois. I missed seeing the sun in the winter so moved back home to Colorado in 2008. Shortly after moving back I purchased a dental practice in Louisville in early 2009.

In 2012, I sold the dental practice, and my husband - Dr. Van Gorden - and I spent a year of travel south of the equator. In 2013, we moved to our new home, the Roaring Fork Valley. I spent two amazing years practicing in Carbondale before Dr. Van Gorden and I made the decision to build Elevate Dental Wellness.

What “elevates” you?

When I'm not in the office you’ll find me wrangling our two dogs, Jax and Daisy. Spending time with my husband - Dr. Van Gorden, fishing, hiking with friends, and learning how to ski!

I am originally from Wichita Kansas, I was raised in Todos Santos Baja Mexico, and I've been living in the Roaring Fork Valley for the last twenty years. I find it rewarding to work for Elevate Dental Wellness because I get to see the patients leave with a healthy clean smile. The atmosphere in the office is not like any other dental office in the RFV. Doctor’s Becky and Schuyler are professional and care about the entire well-being of their patients.

What “elevates” you?

Helping others, enjoying music, and hiking with my puppies. I'm happiest when I am spending time with my family and when I am singing.

What would be your peak "elevated" experience?

I have always wanted to take a safari trip to Africa and jump out of an airplane with a parachute of course!

Jenny Fix, Dental Assistant

Jenny Fix, Dental AssistantWhere are you from and what brought you to Elevate Dental Wellness?

My hometown is Grand Junction, and I've lived in Carbondale for two years. The most rewarding aspect of being at Elevate is getting to work with such great doctors and coworkers!

What “elevates” you?

Playing flute, and having brunch with my boyfriend at the Smithy! We love breakfast!

What would be your peak "elevated" experience?

Riding in a hot air balloon has always been at the very top of my bucket list! When I was young, balloons landed in the corn field across the road from my house many summer evenings. They would pass over so low that I could talk to the passengers.
