Biological Dentistry in Basalt
A healthy mouth doesn’t have to be one that’s filled with toxic chemicals and additives. We take a unique approach to dental care by providing our patients with products and services that help them care for their teeth naturally through natural dentistry (also known as holistic dentistry and biological dentistry, among other names). We believe a natural approach is better because it allows the healthy bacteria in your mouth to work the way they were made to work and maintain good oral health and strong, healthy teeth and gums. Using natural care methods, state-of-the-art procedures, and safe products, we can help you eliminate many of the toxic ingredients and materials used in traditional dentistry. Check out our natural dentistry products and services available to residents in and around Basalt and Aspen, Colorado.
Elevate Dental Wellness offers oral health care products from Providence Apothecary
in Glenwood Springs in our Basalt office. Their product line includes toothpaste, mouthwash, essential oils, teas, and supplements that can benefit your oral health naturally, and use along with your other everyday oral care products. We love giving our patients a natural option for dental care that doesn’t involve the chemicals and additives found in so many other oral hygiene products.
Some oral health concerns can be helped with nutritional supplements. Dr. Steinbach offers both Pure Encapsulations
and Douglas Laboratories
supplements. Based on your oral health concerns, she can even recommend the supplements that will benefit the health of your teeth and gums the most.
Some highly sensitive dental patients may experience a reaction to the materials used during procedures. This reaction is caused by the immune system rejecting the material and reacting against it. To avoid this issue, Elevate Dental Wellness uses serum compatibility testing through BioComp Laboratories
. This testing tells us which materials your body will accept or reject so we can plan accordingly. It’s a necessary, extra step in your dental care that brings you better results after a treatment or procedure in our office.
Elevate is a fluoride-free practice. As holistic dentists, Drs. Van Gorden and Steinbach use less toxic methods to enhance and protect your teeth. All materials used in our office are fluoride-free, BPA free, and Bis-GMA free for your peace of mind.
Ozone therapy can help kill bacteria, parasites and fungi in your mouth, help prevent tooth decay, slow the progression of periodontal disease, decrease pain from mouth ulcers, and even reduce tooth sensitivity. With ozone therapy, we use ozonated water, gas, and oils to treat your teeth and the tissues of your mouth.
Your nutrition plays an important role in the health of your teeth and mouth, so Drs. Van Gorden and Steinbach will take time during your appointment to talk to you about your nutritional habits. They can make recommendations for changes to your diet that can help you improve your oral health and overall wellbeing. If you want to explore your nutritional choices in-depth, they can recommend you to a nutritional counselor for more help. We hope to bring comprehensive nutritional counseling to our natural dentistry practice soon!
Drs. Van Gorden and Steinbach are mercury-free dentists, and Elevate Dental Wellness is 100% mercury free and mercury safe. Mercury vapors are continuously released from silver fillings, and they’re highly toxic to humans. While we will never encourage you to have mercury fillings removed in the absence of proof of a mercury allergy or that your filling is breaking down, we will encourage you to research topics related to the use of mercury in dentistry and as it relates to the environment and your health through the IAOMT
, and Dr. Tom McGuire
. If you choose to have your mercury fillings removed, we follow IAOMT protocol
to reduce exposure to harmful mercury vapors.
